Plant City’s First Baptist Church is very concerned about the privacy of our online users.  Therefore, we have implemented a church-wide policy in regards to this web site.  Please read this statement before using this web site so you will have a full understanding of how we use the information you provide to us.

Plant City’s First Baptist Church is the sole owner of the information collected on this site.  We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement.  Plant City’s First Baptist Church collects information from our users at several different points on our website.

In order to fully use this website, a user must be a member of Plant City’s First Baptist Church.   First Baptist Church members who wish to fully use this web site must first fill out a registration form.  During registration a user is required to give their contact information (such as name and e-mail address.)  This information is used to verify that the user is a member of Plant City‘s  First Baptist Church.  The user MUST use their real name, as this is one way we identify the user in our database.  We also will collect other information (such as date of birth and gender) for the sole purpose of tailoring the information on this site to the particular user.
 

Cookies

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user.  The cookie will contain the user’s username so that the web site will recognize the user on subsequent visits.  The user’s password can optionally be stored in the cookie at the user’s request so there is no need to enter it on every visit to the site.  The cookie will also contain the user’s preferences on what information will be shown to them on the home page.  If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site.  The only drawback to this is that the user will have to reenter some information at each visit.  Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site.

This website takes every precaution to protect our user’s information.  All personal information about our members is stored only on computer systems on the campus of Plant City’s First Baptist Church.  Personal information is NOT transmitted or received from this web site.  All membership records are stored on protected computer systems that are behind a firewall to keep this data secure.

Supplementation of Information

This web site does not gather any other supplemental information to be used by Plant City’s First Baptist Church or any third-party company.  The site is tailored to the individual by the individual for their personal use.

We also may send the user site and service announcement updates.  Members are not able to un-subscribe from service announcements, which contain important information about the service.  We communicate with the user to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account view email or phone.
 

Correction/Updating Personal Information

If a user’s personally identifiable information changes (such as your e-mail address), or if a user no longer desires our service, we will provide a way to correct, update or remove that user’s personal data provided to us.  This can usually be done at  the member information page or by emailing our (link) Webmaster.

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Homepage so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under circumstances, if any, we disclose it.  If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email.  Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner.  We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
