Dear Church Family,

I am very excited about the opportunity God has provided us through our “For Generations to Come” program.  We will be able to impact the lives of others, not just in the present time, but for generations to come!  As we focus on this capital stewardship program, I want you to reflect on God’s blessings in your life and upon our church.  Certainly, we cannot help but feel gratitude and anticipation as we seek God’s will.

I am excited about the parking, preschool, and hallway (fellowship) challenges that will be answered in our relocation.  But I’m just as excited about the new opportunities First Baptist Church will have as we lead every age group in our city beyond just good enough to experience L.I.F.E. in Christ!

As we venture into this capital stewardship challenge, I ask you to bathe our church in prayer.  It will be so tempting to look at this as giving to a building.  It’s way more than that!  I’m asking you to invest in the generations to come.  I can remember on several occasions how my parents sacrificed in order for me and my brother to have something that would benefit us for years to come.  They sacrificed because they loved me and wanted the best for my future.  That’s what I’m going to ask you to do for the generations to come in Plant City and beyond.  As you give above and beyond your current giving for the next three years, ask God what He wants you to do.  And then do it.  As we look over our church’s 150 year history, I am very grateful for those that sacrificed for us to enjoy all that we do today.  It’s our turn!

For generations to come, may God’s Name be spread, praised, and preached because of our faithfulness and sacrifice today!

“…things that we have heard and known, that our fathers have told us.  We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.”
