Dr. Kim Van Cura
Dr. Kim Van Cura has taught in colleges and universities and has had private voice and piano studios. She has taught music in schools K-12; and been an organist-choir director for over forty years in VA, GA, IA, and TX where her students have won scholarships and honors in every area. She was a Piano Guild judge for several years and served in several offices of TMTA including president of the Waco MTA and performance chair for the district. She has accompanied and coached singers in contests, college degrees recitals and professional concerts in the US and Europe. She holds degrees from The Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, the University of Iowa, and Baylor University. She earned a Doctorate in Education while researching the attributes of teaching in the one-to-one music studio.
Nathan Drawdy comes from a musical family and has grown up writing and performing both inside and outside of the church walls. He is a product of the First Baptist Music School and immediately went to work as a private instructor upon completing his time as a student back in 2005. Since then he has earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Stetson University in 2010. He currently works as the worship leader for JesusChurch in Riverview, FL and as the Director of Choral activities at Plant City High School. Will be joining the School of Music teaching Music to Grow on this year. Kathie has 14 years of teaching experience in primary grades and preschool. She also has 15 combined years of leading worship through Children's music ministry. Kathie has a heart for preschoolers and teaching children early on to worship through Music! Your child will be learning about music through songs and poems, dancing, playing instruments and even literature!
